England U21s Hit Serbia for Nine in Euro Qualifying Rout

Young Lions Roar to Emphatic Victory

England's Under-21 side put their Serbian counterparts to the sword in a dominant 9-1 win in their UEFA Euro 2025 Under-21 Championship Qualifying Group F encounter.

The Young Lions wasted no time in asserting their authority, with Chelsea forward Noni Madueke opening the scoring in the 10th minute. Debutant Jaden Philogene-Bidace doubled the advantage just a few minutes later, setting the tone for an onslaught.

Serbia managed to pull one back through Armin Cebic, but England continued to pile on the goals. Liam Delap netted a brace, while Harvey Elliott, Luke Thomas, Rhian Brewster, and Carlton Morris also got on the scoresheet.

The victory puts England top of Group F with a perfect record from their opening two matches. Serbia, meanwhile, drop to third place after suffering their first defeat of the campaign.

England U21 manager Lee Carsley was delighted with his team's performance, saying: "I'm really pleased with the way the team played today. We were clinical in front of goal and we defended superbly. It was a great result and a good way to start the qualifying campaign."

Serbia U21 coach Goran Stevanović was disappointed with his team's performance but vowed to bounce back in their next match. "We didn't play well today. England were the better team and they deserved to win. We need to learn from this and improve in our next game."
